Privacy Policy

The short version

• Your writing is yours. We don’t claim ownership of any script or content you put into Story Lint.
• We don’t sell your data — not to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.
• We don’t run ads or third-party advertising trackers.
• We don’t use your scripts to train AI models.
• We collect only what’s needed to sign you in, save your work, and run the service.

What we collect

Your email address. When you sign in, your email is provided either by a magic-link login or by a third-party sign-in provider you choose (such as Google or GitHub). We don’t ask you to fill out a profile — we use that email only to identify your account and to associate it with the scripts you save.

The scripts and content you submit. When you paste a script for analysis, we store it so you can come back to it, along with the structured feedback our analysis produces. This is the core of the product, and it stays tied to your account.

Basic usage records. To enforce plan limits and bill correctly, we keep counts of actions like analyses run, plus the token usage and estimated cost of each request to our analysis engine. We don’t build advertising or behavioral profiles.

Payment information. If you subscribe, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe sends us only the subscription status needed to set your plan.

Service providers we use

We rely on a small set of trusted providers purely to operate Story Lint. They process data on our behalf, only as needed to run the service:

• Supabase — database and authentication (stores your account and saved scripts).
• Anthropic (Claude) — the analysis engine that reviews your script and returns feedback. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.
• Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
• Resend — delivers messages you send through our contact form.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and saved scripts for as long as your account is active. You can delete a script at any time from within the app. If you’d like your account and its data removed entirely, reach out through our contact page and we’ll take care of it.

Security

Access to your scripts is restricted to your account. Your analysis engine key and other secrets live server-side and are never exposed to the browser. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Children

Story Lint isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we’ll revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
